Earlier this week, LEGO shared the first teaser for LEGO Ideas 21339 BTS Dynamite, and today it was time for the full reveal. This happened much earlier than usual, and of course, it has everything to do with the market that LEGO is targeting. The set is based on the K-pop band BTS and this resulted in the most successful tweet ever for the Danish company with the teaser receiving almost 12 million views and 340,000 likes in just three days.

The front of LEGO Ideas 21339 BTS Dynamite features a donut shop, disco, record store, and a sidewalk with a fire hydrant. The open back provides access to the interior of the record store with some vinyl records. LEGO has equipped the donut shop with a stocked fridge and a coffee maker. Additionally, we see an ice cream truck, 2 palm trees, and a basketball hoop on the side of the set.
Behind the disco is the stage with the BTS logo on it as a sticker. Builders can make the minifigures pirouette by turning the Technic mechanism on the right side of the stage. The set’s decor is 14 cm high, 38 cm wide, and 16 cm deep.
LEGO Ideas 21339 BTS Dynamite is inspired by the project of LEGO fans Josh and Jacob from the United States. They combined their love for BTS and their passion for LEGO to bring the set to life.
“Josh did the building and design work, and as a huge BTS fan, I told him what needed to be included and which details were most important. It was a very fun process. Jacob had the BTS knowledge and could guide my building in the right way. I watched the music video over and over and tried to capture its essence in LEGO bricks. It was insane when the project went viral online overnight,” said Jacob.
Regarding the development of the set, Federico Begher, head of the LEGO Product Group, said, “When we saw Josh and Jacob’s colorful design, we knew it would be a hit, and that was proven by how quickly they reached 10,000 views in the LEGO Ideas vote. The BTS fans have already rallied behind the design, so it was important that we remained as faithful as possible to the original creation. The set highlights creativity, passion, and above all, fun! We can’t wait for fans to build and display it.”
